Concept

The Options Evaluator is designed to inject comparative reasoning into digital systems. Instead of deterministic output, this agent reflects on possibilities. It frames every decision as a set of viable paths, not a single endpoint.
This concept redefines the role of software from executor to strategist. The agent doesn’t just follow orders — it pauses, assesses alternatives, and helps the user navigate ambiguity. This capability is central to any Software 3.0 system where stakes, goals, or environments are non-binary.

In the logic of Software 3.0, where intent is fuzzy and context is fluid, decision-making becomes a function of dynamic constraints, not static logic trees. The Options Evaluator bridges human intuition and model-generated analysis.

Functional Logic

This agent performs multivariate evaluation. It:

• Surfaces Alternatives — Generates or retrieves candidate options relevant to the task
• Maps Criteria — Interprets user goals, constraints, and preferences
• Scores Tradeoffs — Applies utility functions, scoring models, or LLM-evaluated heuristics
• Narrates Reasoning — Outputs not just the winner, but why it was chosen, what the risks are, and what else could be done
• Handles Uncertainty — Acknowledges unknowns, presents questions, and proposes next steps to clarify input

Structurally, the logic involves:

• Context acquisition (retrieval / dialogue / memory)
• Alternative generation (LLM or API-based enumeration)
• Scoring / weighting (manual rules or soft heuristics)
• Summary output with confidence explanations

It allows for comparison of apples to oranges: vendors, plans, policies, ideas, people.
